Biography

Don Taylor Bio
Born and raised in Antioch Tennessee but now live with my family in Hendersonville. I am the second oldest of 5 children. I have an older brother, a younger brother, and three younger sisters. I am lucky enough to work with my two brothers now. I am married to the love of my life, Laura and we will celebrate our 50th anniversary on November 21st of this year.  We recently welcomed the birth of our 1st daughter Grace Lynn Taylor. She is 13 and 1/2 months old and the cutest thing I have ever seen.

I had my first job at 5 years old as a child actor believe it or not. My first commercial was for the Opryland Theme park and I went on to do commercials for Nashville Electric Service, Vietti Chili, and a few others. I always had jobs as a teenager including being the Easter Bunny at Hickory Hollow Mall when I was 14.  Went on to be an Eagle Scout by 16 and fell in love with sales when mentored by a man named Sonny Crews who worked for Thomas Nelson for decades and is to this day the best salesman I’ve ever met.

Graduated from Antioch High School in 1993 and went on to get degrees from Nashville Tech and Middle Tennessee State University. Majored in Commercial Art and computer-generated art with a double minor in Psychology and business at MTSU and received my business management degree with a concentration in marketing from Nashville State Tech.  Still have a passion for art and plan to do it for profit in my retirement.

I moved furniture and was a telemarketer to put myself through college.  Never took out a student loan and went to school for about 9 years. I worked with my brother at a printing company for about a year as a laborer and assistant Pressman. Did some business to business sales, bartender, and was a telemarketer/fundraiser for law enforcement groups during this time as well. Started a furniture moving company that I owned for about a decade until the collapse in 08.  At that point, I sold the moving company and used my telemarketing experience to start a phone room for an upstart roofing company in Hendersonville.  I helped build it into the fifth largest residential roofing company in the nation.  I left Best Choice Roofing about 6 years ago (on good terms) to go into the family business and will be there for the rest of my working career.

Looking forward to seeing how this story ends! Very much enjoyed writing this and thinking about the road that led me here.
